Trio Arrested On Meth Charges In South Jersey

Three people have been arrested on various drug-related charges in Cape May County, authorities said.

James O’Conner, 33, of Wildwood; Sean Reinek, 48 and Gina McCaffery, 34, of Middle Township were arrested, they said.

The arrests followed an investigation of methamphetamine sales by O'Conner, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said.

On Wednesday, May 23, authorities made warranted searches on the residence and vehicle of O’Conner's in the 300 West block of Pine Ave Wildwood as well as the residence of Gina McCaffery on Lafayette Avenue in the Del Haven section of Middle Township, the prosecutor said.

As a result of these searches, approximately five ounces of methamphetamines, two stolen motorcycles and $1,128 in cash was seized, the prosecutor said.

O’Conner and Reinek were charged with the following:

  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. 
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within a school zone. 
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within 500 feet of a public place.
  • Possession of methamphetamine.
  • Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. 
  • Possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia.
  • Money laundering, and
  • Two counts of receiving stolen property. 

Reinek also was found to be a fugitive from justice for first-degree drug distribution and eluding charges, the prosecutor said.

O’Conner and Reinek were being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility

McCaffery was charged with possession of methamphetamine. McCaffery was issued a summons pending a future court date.
